The Louisville Medical Center Development Corporation (LMCDC) was created to capitalize on the economic development opportunities in Louisville’s downtown medical center.
A Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district was established for 210 acres on the former Haymarket property and surrounding blocks, where the University of Louisville is building a life-sciences campus. The Louisville Medical Center Development Corp. was the original applicant for the tax increment financing arrangement and an agreement between LMCDC and Nucleus allows Nucleus to administer the TIF.
