UofL Development Company

(UofL Development Company)

The UofL Development Company (ULDC) has as its primary function the development and management of Foundation real estate property for the benefit of the University of Louisville. It was originally established to serve as the UofL Foundation's master developer for the ShelbyHurst Office and Research Park.
ShelbyHurst is a 230-acre area located in the suburbs of eastern Jefferson County at the intersection of Hurstbourne Lane and Shelbyville Road. A 20-acre core of the campus is identified for academic purposes. The University's Regional Biosafety Laboratory will open in the southeast corner of the property on Hurstbourne Lane, and the remaining acreage is designated for research and office buildings.
ShelbyHurst is expected to contribute to the Foundation's overall revenue performance.
In 2008, the first phase of infrastructure improvements began at ShelbyHurst with the development of a four lane boulevard through the campus bordered by bike lanes and wide attractive sidewalks. During this phase, special attention was given to enhancing green space and improving the life of the surrounding community. This green design, combined with the convenience of the new boulevard and throughways, will facilitate driving, walking and biking through the campus.
