1798 Society

Donors who give $1,000 or more annually to the University are members of the 1798 Society. Named for the year the Kentucky state legislature established the Jefferson Seminary, UofL's predecessor, 1798 Society members set an exemplary standard of giving and inspire others to join in advancing the mission of the University. Donors may contribute funds to be used where most needed or designate their gifts to a specific department, program, or scholarship.

1798 Society members receive many special benefits, including:
- Invitations to donor recognition and campus events
- Receipt of University publications and other special mailings
- Recognition on the University Club's Wall of Honor
- Charitable tax deductions for gifts

Membership in the 1798 Society or UofL Society can include a joint gift with spouse and is renewable annually (membership follows the fiscal year, July 1-June 30).
